Parents of Northwestern students, past and present, realize the exceptional education that Northwestern provides their children and show their appreciation by supporting the Parents’ Fund.
A key part of the Northwestern Annual Fund, the Parents’ Fund provides a reliable source of expendable income and thus, the money raised is immediately cycled back in to educational priorities. The Parents’ Fund allows Northwestern to broaden the opportunities available to current students - supporting all aspects of their undergraduate education, specifically scholarships, new teaching and learning opportunities, and student life.
The Parents’ Fund makes a daily difference in the lives of all students by making possible the special features that make the Northwestern experience extraordinary and unique. Some specific examples include:
- Attracting and retaining world-class faculty in each department
- Creating new and improved curricula
- Promoting student groups and activities that enhance campus life
- Providing financial aid to over 60% of undergraduate students
- Acquiring new technologies to engage current students and attract prospective students
The Parents’ Fund enables Northwestern to offer the scholarships and enhanced programs, courses and facilities that set Northwestern apart from its peers.
The Northwestern Parents’ Fund raises current-use gifts from non-alumni parents. In fiscal year 2005, parents of Northwestern students gave approximately $1.1 million to support undergraduate education through the Parents’ Fund. The goal for the 2006 fiscal year is $1.5 million. Monitor our progress as we reach for our 2006 fundraising goal.

Gifts of time are also valued. Parent volunteers on the Parents’ Fund Committee share their time and energy with Northwestern by asking fellow parents to support the Parents’ Fund. The enthusiasm and commitment of these volunteers fuels the success of the Parents’ Fund.
